Week 3 - Dev Log

This week we had a brief meeting going over the plan of attack after receiving feedback during our design presentation. We adjusted and clarified some things in our design document based on the feedback we received and are now in the process of building out the actual game.

Accomplishments:

  • Player model & movement animation
  • Some environmental assets and textures like torches
  • Checkpoint asset
  • Fairy model + flying animation
  • Greyboxing for first INTERIOR level

In Progress:

  • Health UI + implementation
  • Fire VFX
  • Tree assets
  • Collision detection
  • Checkpoint system
  • Player death + respawn
  • First level greyboxing

Issues: No new known issues have come up this week. 

Next Steps:

  • Player jump animation
  • Greyboxing for first level
  • Setting up a tutorial

The next week will be a heavy work week as all the teams are working on their respective tasks. The CS team is still working on the core mechanics of our game and combining them together to make a working game. The art team is working on various assets required for the first two levels of the game. And the audio team is working on a list of SFX and music that I know will be included in the game.
