Week 7 - Dev Log

This week we had some in-class playtests and got some feedback as well as solved some issues with lighting in Unity. We’re looking into maybe having our camera zoomed out so the player has a wider view of the level based on the feedback we received in the playtests and we’re still discuss the implementation of level rotation on 2 axis, however we did run into an issue with level design if we do incorporate 2 axis rotation.

Accomplishment:

  • Completion of new tutorial level
  • Completion of new advanced level
  • Completion of jumping dust VFX
  • Completion of some SFX
  • Completion of custom skyboxes
  • Fall damage implementation
  • House model

In Progress:

  • Health UI
  • Textures for the exterior level castle assets
  • Refining the tutorial

Issues: 

  • Having issues with the walls not being invisible/temporarily invisible
  • Lighting issues (fixed)

 

Next Steps:

  • Player orientation indicator
  • Platform Textures
  • Adding SFX and music
