Week 6 - Dev Log

This week was the alpha demo presentation. We received some good feedback to think on. After the presentation our team had a group meeting to discuss said feedback, one of them being, allowing the player to rotate the level on 2 axis instead of 1 which would increase the difficulty of level design, but give the player more freedom and make our controls more intuitive. Another thing mentioned was that our tutorial was too hard and should be simplified alot, so we as a team decided to make the tutorial level we displayed as our advanced level and create a new simpler tutorial level. 

Accomplishment:

  • Revised original interior tutorial level (now advanced level)

In Progress:

  • Desired camera function
  • Health UI
  • Fall damage
  • Textures for the exterior level castle assets
  • New tutorial level

Issues: 

  • Still having issues with our desired camera functionality
  • Issues with applying textures properly to assets. 

 

Next Steps:

  • Proper tutorial
  • Player orientation indicator
